Review: Victoria's Secret Pro Lasting FX Eyeshadow Primer

I got it on my recent trip to Las Vegas with the Pro Airbrush FX Face Primer. Some time ago I saw Marlena's  -makeupgeek- haul on some VS product and how much they have improved so when I got to the store I was committed to do some hefty damage to my VS credit card LoL.  Turns out the eyeshadows and lipstick didn't caught my eye but as a primer junkie; the primers did.

The primer comes in a tube -as TFSI- , 8g / .28oz, $8

Consistency also similar to TFSI and UDPP.  It has a light tan color that blends easily in to the skin and noticed my eyelids felt smoother and had a more even tone.
At first came out a little oily so I didn't had much hope for it.  Happy to say that I judge it to quick; this have became my go-to eye primer. There was no crease or fading.  Have tried it with pressed, loose, mate and shimmery, wet and dry eyeshadows without any problem.  I even fall asleep with my makeup on and the next morning my eyeshadow was intact [was removing my makeup sited on my bed and then zzzzzzz, next thing I know the sun was shining, birds singing and I still had a makeup remover wipe in my hand! LoL]
There is no weird smell and a little bit goes a long way.  I only use 2 small dots to cover my eyelid, brow bone and lower lash line.  The tube looks quite small but considering how little you need, it has enough product for only $8.

I wanted to get my mom, my sister in law & my cousin one and have been checking VS website for a while but it's not listed anymore.  I hope they don't remove it from the Pro line because I really like this product and we don't have VS stores in Puerto Rico.

Review: Elf Eyelid Primer

On my last Elf order I decided to try their eye primer.  Originally, my intention was to order the one from the Studio line but it was sold out.  Before completing my order saw a couple of tutorials in YouTube and the girl was using the primer from the regular line and she was telling how good it worked for only $1 so I added it to my cart.  Now I'm happy that it was just $1 because the product didn't work for me.

Product description on Elf website: Eyelid Primer

Preps your eyelid for smoother, longer-lasting and crease-proof eyeshadow. The ultra sheer nude color works to increase eye color longevity. The lightweight liquid formula quickly absorbs into the skin for comfortable wear.
My experience:
  • smoother: Maybe? It was so smooth the eyeshadow didn't stick to my eyelid.
  • longer lasting: Since the eyeshadows barely stick to my eyelid colors quickly washed away.
  • crease-proof: Again, if there is barely any eyeshadow on, there was no creasing at all and my eyelids are not oily anyways.

What I'm going to do with it?  While ago I depoted what was left from my UDPP on a jar and it has start to dry.  When I want to use it and not having a hard time blending -it has become super pasty- I add a little bit of the Elf eyelid primer and mix them together to make it more smooth and it works just fine.  Glad that in this case nothing goes to waste.

Have you tried the Elf Mineral Eyeshadow Primer? Let me know it it works or any other alternative to inexpensive primers

Review: mark Please Hold Eye Primer Get the look

Sometime ago was thinking Avon was a little behind because they didn't had any primers; then MagiX came in and when I was wishing for an eye primer, they introduced Mark Please Hold eye primer; are they reading my mind or what? lol  Approximately a month ago I ordered it and while it didn't beat UDPP or Paladio Herbal eyeprimer, it wasn't a disaster.

Product description according to Avon:
A creamy, oil-free formula that is two products in one. 0.098 oz. net wt.
- Primes lids, conceals circles!
- Helps eye makeup last and stay fresh-looking!
- Helps prevent creasing!
- Covers dark spots and puffiness!
- Oil-Free!
My experience based on product description:
  • Primes lids, conceals circles: my lids are dark due to insomnia and this primer did conceal that.  The skin in one of my eyes is patchy an uneven [got burn with wax] and typically when using dark eyeshadow that scar gets more noticeable, but this primer hides it nicely.
  •  Helps eye makeup last and stay fresh-looking: generally speaking, it does. But, when I used it with a NYX JEP as a color base after 5 hours or so colors started to fade.  When applied my eyeshadow without a color base it worked fine.
  •  Helps prevent creasing: Did crease when I used a cream color base, without the cream base makeup lasted pretty nicely for about 10 - 12 hours.
  • Oil-Free:  The product is so soft that may give you the impression that its oily, but is not.  It has a light consistency, it feels like you don't have anything on.  My mother as oily lids and she didn't experience any creasing.
other stuff to take into consideration:
  • packaging: thin & small size compact & like the fact that it includes a mirror!
  • price: $8 and I find it on the affordable side, specially if you have minor dark spots / discoloration; you could really take advantage of having two products in one [primer + concealer]
  • availability: You can get it by Avon.com or via one of their representatives.
  •  variety: It comes in 2 shades: Light to Medium & Medium to Dark. I got light to medium shade.

Yes, you can tell that I'm a primer junkie!!!! ahahah

Review: Palladio Herbal eyeshadow Primer

Recently on a trip to Walmart decided to check on Palladio Herbal eyeshadow primer that was recommended by YouTuber EmilyNoel83. My full size Urban Decay Primer Potion have dried up and I found a little weird the consistency of the mini - sample one; so for $7 if the Palladio really worked would save me $ and a trip to Sephora.

I'm really glad that I tried this product! In my experience it does the work as good as the ones from high end brands. Here we are starting to feel the heat of the upcoming summer and my eyeshadow lasted all day, no creasing, no faded colors. The color and consistency / texture is similar to UDPP.  The packaging is net because is small and will fit pretty much in any makeup bag. It has a doe-foot applicator and I've been able to scrap every tiny bit of product ot of the tube with it. A little goes a long way so this baby have lasted me for a very long time; no waste; it haven't dried either!
For a drugstore product to work as efficient as it does for $7 to 8 and available in places like Walmart, Sally Beauty, it's great bang for your buck.
