Sinful Colors: Super Star

I promised to reduce the amount of glitter polishes in my collection, but this Sinful Colors got me; is kind of a perfect combo! :)
Superstar is a super pretty blue jelly with purple and aqua glitter.  In my experience, jelly glitters become somewhat difficult to manege when applying the second coat but this one was the exception.

Rainbow Gradient with Kleancolor Metallics

I think gradients have become my favorite kind of manicure!

What I used:

Kleancolor Pink Lady (base)

Kleancolor Metallic Pink, Purple, Aqua & Green (gradient colors)

Tools:

Makeup sponge wedge

Kleancolor: Pastel Purple

To me, is very difficult to get into pastel shades. Whether is clothes, accessories  makeup, nail polish; I don't like how they look on me.  I love everything spring but can't make myself to wear a color like this, even when I think is pretty.

Pastel Purple is a bit darker in person and almost completely opaque in one coat, but the consistency is very thick so I had to go over with a second coat to make it look even and smoother.

Orly: Mysterious Course

Mysterious Course, Part of the Dark Shadows Collection that came out on May 2012 is a blue/purple with blue duo-chrome.

This is my kind of color! :)

Its dark, but the beautiful duo-chrome adds dimension to it.

China Glaze No Plain Jane + stripes & a bow

Here is another polish from the Bohemian Collection.  To me, the name does not go along with the shade, because it is the Plain Jane from all.  Still, its a pretty metallic purple.  It is more on the sheer side; I did 2 coats and after taking the pictures thought I should have done one more.  Next time I'll layer it over black or grey to see if it pumps the duochrome properties.

To make it a tad more fancy, added a lil' something using my striping tape.  On my ring finger only made a thin line with Color Club Wild at Heart . Then inverted the pattern using and adding Kleancolor Grand Finale [holo bar glitter] in the middle.

Pimping up a simple but already sparkly manicure

This manicure went trough three steps: single color - layering and finally a flashy revamp!
For this look, next day I layered two more coats of Kleancolor Chunky Holo Chrome, then added purple diamond-shaped glitters and a stick-on flower decal on my ring finger.

I now I'm not alone on this: can't sport just one color on my nails.  I will paint them in a single color because I don't like to leave then naked and then ideas starts to flow, next thing I now there are a ton on things going on.

This time after swatching LA Colors Metallic Red I decided to layer Kleancolor Chunky Holo Chrome over it.  The look is quite simple but fun.  It reminds me of confetti :)

This story will continue...knew I had to pimp this mani a bit more!

Comparison: China Glaze Awakening & NYC Wing It Wine

I've had this couple for a while and every time I looked at them I thought: this two must be dupes.  In person in the bottles they look very similar, but not once applied.  They have something that distinguish from one another, making each of them unique within my stash; but I like them both.

China Glaze Awakening: from the 2010 Halloween collection, its a mauve/pink with super elegant flashes of gold.  It gets opaque enough with two coats.  I could not take pictures of it, but over black or burgundy base this one is a stunner!

NYC Wing It Wine: Kind of goes on the same color range as Awakening, but to me it has more of a copper & purple than pink hue to it.  It applies super smooth and you can almost get full opacity with one coat.  This one over black gets an unexpected olive flash that looks super cool. This one reminds a bit of Orly Oui, but without the shimmer and less purple hue.

both polishes are a dream to apply and I think they go with my skin tone. 

Verdict: a draw!

Kleancolor Holo Chrome

I want to thank my sister-in-law Glenda for letting me paint her nails and voluntarily take pictures of it for the blog.  Her camera is better than mine and was able to catch most of Kleancolor Holo Chrome's beauty-- a purple jelly dream with lots of holographic goodness...mmm jelly...hahaha!

 I did her mani in a hurry because I took a break before going back to study.  I decided to use China Glaze Señorita Bonita as a base and added a white bow decal in each ring finger has an accent.  Simple and cute :)

My nails are naked now, I wanted to do some green manis in honor of my upcoming birthday but I'm tempted to wear this beauty.

eotd: Radiant Makeup inspired me - to look in old folders!

I absolutely love this look from Radiant Makeup! I was feeling inspired to give it a try but then I remember playing with something similar. I made this back in December so I'm not sure of the eyeshadows I used but the blue on my lids might be from Aromaleigh and the pink and purple from the Elf punk funk quad.

Notd: Bettina in purple

I've been using Bettina nail polishes since I was a kid. They where the most used polishes between my mom & aunts.I remember that their color range was more into neutrals and identified only by a number.  Now the brand as evolved and they have collections and names for the colors, the colors are more up with trends too.  They are very good polishes and offer a great value, usually retail for $2 or a little more.  I think they are only sold in Puerto Rico, but I might be wrong. Bettina also offers makeup products, their eyeshadows are super pigmented.

I have used this color many times! I tried my best to get the most accurate color possible to show on pictures; but that might not happen until I get a new camera.  Still, managed to get a somewhat decent representation of the color without flash, but blurry.

Again, playing with my Icing cosmetic glitter tower!  This time I used cosmetic glitter glue and it was a pain to remove it LoL.  It didn't turn out as I wished to, but I'm pleased since I'm just starting on this glitter thing. The glitter was purple but my camera changed the color and looks blue on pics.  In person the combination of greens and purple looked super cool.
