Pink Floral Stamping Over White

Here is my first time wearing white nail polish!
All white nails can be quite a challenge to wear.  It requires more than two coats to achieve get rid of the patchy looking and you can't drag the brush too much or it will cause "bald spots".  Think I finally found a good white polish to do the entire nail, the consistency is perfect: not too watery, not gloppy and the right amount of thickness to cover the nail uniformly.

The stamping is not perfect (but I'll keep practicing) but I liked it, its imperfections makes it look like an old fabric design :)

What I used:
NYC 134 French White Tip (base)
Sinful Colors Bikini (stamping)
China Glaze Prism (accent nail)
Blue Pentagon Glitters
Bundle Monster BM-221

Stamping: Floral Over White

Here is my first time wearing white nail polish and I'm loving it!  Had to apply 3 and in some nails 4 coats of white because it was looking patchy, but this polish dries fast and has the perfect consistency.

My intention was go to simple: white with a glittery accent nail. I liked it, but stamping it was so tempting!
It took me a couple ours get me used to it, but then I couldn't stop staring at my nails :)

What I used:
NYC French White Tip (base)
China Glaze Prism (ring finger)
Color Club Hot Like Lava (stamping)
Bundle Monster BM - 221
blue pentagon glitters

Wet n Wild Pinks & Flowery Stamping

I'm trying to get into the spring theme with pinks and flowers.  To be honest, its hard. I prefer darker, richer and very sparkly polishes vs the subtle and flowery theme.  Anyway,  I think this try came out fairly well, specially the stamping which I am very happy with :)

I was using my old camera, which made taking the pictures quite difficult.  This camera does not like bright pinks and yellows in general.  Its white balance and macro settings are very simple; did the best I could.  I used a glitter topcoat on my ring finger but I wasn't able to capture it.  This was my first time using the NYC topcoat, which leave me very impressed.  It is a bit thicker than the Beauty Secrets one, didn't smear the stamping, dried fast and its super shinny. Had a hard one dealing with the glare fest! but its all good; its super cheap and leaves the glossy finish I love :)

What I used:
  • Wet n Wild Candy-licious (base)
  • Wet n Wild Lavender Creme (stamping)
  • Kleancolor Chunky Holo Candy (ring finger)
  • Yellow sequins
  • BM-224  plate

Collective Haul: CVS, Sallys & Local Beauty Supply

Since mid March I've been haulin' too much nail related things, specially nail polishes.  Think I should not get any new ones...I'll try not to, I'll try  ;)

Here is a mix of things I got at CVS, Sallys and a local beauty supply called "Cosmos"

CVS: their polish remover: since I started stamping, noticed I might need acetone in industrial quantities! lol  Also got NYC white cream (for stamping) and Spoiled Pet My Peacock

I went with my sister-in-law to a new (to us) Sally's location and where surprised at how big the store was!  They had 4 clearance sections from which I got the Let It Snow kit $1.25 (Blue Years Eve & Snow Globe), Some like it Haute $1, California Mango cuticle gel $.69.  The only thing I got regular price was Lux & Lush from The Hunger Games collection. It was $5.99 but in my receipt it said $4.  Now I wish I got Harvest Moon and Riveting since I've seen them in other Sallys at $6-$7

Local beauty supply: Bettina Metallic Copper $1.99, SuperNail thinner $2.25, Color Club Magic Atraction $1.99 and Kiss Wear cuticle remover $1.95

Days before, one of my aunts got this Color Clubs at the same beauty supply. She got them to get her toes skittle-ed, but because she rarely wears colors like this; she gave them to me :D This are my first! CC
Sorry, the picture was taken at night with my phone

Psychedelic scene, warhol, koo-koo cachoo, edie, trippie hippie, wild at heart

Later last week, I went back to another Sallys location and got some more polishes and nail wheels.  The crackle polishes where an impulse buy motivated by how cheap they where; think they where not even a dollar!

Sparkle TopCoat, Purple Crackle, Blue Crackle, Galaxy Girl, Champagne Bubbles, Dreamsicle, Haute Metal

Comparison: China Glaze Awakening & NYC Wing It Wine

I've had this couple for a while and every time I looked at them I thought: this two must be dupes.  In person in the bottles they look very similar, but not once applied.  They have something that distinguish from one another, making each of them unique within my stash; but I like them both.

China Glaze Awakening: from the 2010 Halloween collection, its a mauve/pink with super elegant flashes of gold.  It gets opaque enough with two coats.  I could not take pictures of it, but over black or burgundy base this one is a stunner!

NYC Wing It Wine: Kind of goes on the same color range as Awakening, but to me it has more of a copper & purple than pink hue to it.  It applies super smooth and you can almost get full opacity with one coat.  This one over black gets an unexpected olive flash that looks super cool. This one reminds a bit of Orly Oui, but without the shimmer and less purple hue.

both polishes are a dream to apply and I think they go with my skin tone.
Verdict: a draw!

Winter Manicure

This manicure is a couple weeks old.  When thinking about a Winter/Christmas themed mani, I wanted to do a snowman but didn't had the necessary tools to do it free hand.  Instead I decided to play with blues, glitter and incorporate some of the colors from my Christmas tree ornaments.  It was fun to keep adding details, I think it turned out very cute :)

What I used:

  • LA Girl Sky Blue Glitter & Sinful Colors Out Of this World (alternating coats of each)
  • LA Colors Metallic Navy Blue
  • China Glaze Silver Lining
  • NYC Starry Silver
  • Wet N Wild Kaleidoscope
  • sequins that have fallen off from Christmas ornaments
