AIS Challenge: Stamp Over Orange

The theme for April 7th challenge on AIS was to stamp over orange.
When it comes to stamping I rarely end totally satisfied with the final results but this time, I couldn't love this manicure more!  It looks like a sari :)

What I used:

China Glaze Roguish Red (base)

Sally Hansen ColorQuick Fast-Dry pen in gold (stamp)

Dots, stripes and flower nail art

Initially, I wanted to replicate a YouTube tutorial on plaid nail art using the long striping brush. My lines came out horrible and in the wrong direction.  In an attempt to fix it, one crooked line became an angled french tip and that was followed by more lines, dots, glitter and a fimo flower.
When it comes to nail art, sometimes I don't know where to stop! lol

Fan brush stripes nail art

I have a small nail art brush kit and have used all of them except for the fan brush.  When used acrylic nails one of the techs would always make gorgeous flower designs over my french but never saw her (or any other tech) use the fan brush.  I was so intrigued by this cute brush that so far I've only used to apply my mud face mask!
Well, mystery solved thanks to THIS tutorial from SimpleNailArtDesigns

My result doesn't look as cool as hers, but I like it.  The colors reminds me to the Baskin Robin's ice cream called Rainbow Sherbet :)
On my ring finger I attempted the saran wrap technique for the first time.  I messed it up.Waited for it to dry, added a gold flakie topcoat an attempted again...no bueno! but well, this mishaps are part of experimenting!

Sally Hansen: Salon Complete Manicure in All Fired Up

All Fired Up is the perfect cherry tomato shade.  Red (or any variant of it) is timeless, a classic and this shade particularly would be perfect for summer - both hands & toes -

It has a great formula; opaque in two coats and a shinny & smooth finish.

I imagine it would look gorgeous with some golden studs or a copper/bronze stamping over it.

Bling On! with Finger Paints & Kleancolor

This mani started simple, only with Finger Paints Art Appreciation Apricot because I wanted to swatch it.

I love this color! For some reason I think of salsa & chips every time I wear it.  This is the only Finger Paints polish that I own but so far I'm very pleased with all its aspects: formula, application, brush, bottle, wear, etc.

  

That week I had so much school work that I forgot to take swatch pics.  While studying for a exam I got so stressed that got on the verge to bite my nails.  To distract myself a little and relax I decided to layer randomly selected polishes over it.  

When it comes to Kleancolor, they are like Frank's Hot Sauce slogan -again, the sauce thing- I put that sh*t on everything! lol  Here I used Chunky Holo Poppy & Tiara Gold.  Pictures show a couple days of wear   but I liked the combo so much that didn't want to skip taking pictures

Avon Beyond Color lipsticks

I keep finding "more old than cold" swatches in my random folders LoL
This are from several Avon Beyond Color lipsticks.  I like this lipsticks because they are very smooth and pigmented.  My least favorite shade is Chocolate Frosting, I really don't know why I got it????
Peach Daiquiri and Cantaloupe will be a perfect pair for this season.

EOTD: green & bold

Again, experimenting with greens on my Profusion palette. Again, it was one of those days when eyeliner & mascara where against me, but I still liked the results. At the end decided to try a bold orange with gold sparkle lip, just because ;)

Makeup Fail: tropical punch

I liked the colors on this look but not the final result. From start to finish everything went wrong. Well, looks like there are "gray days" on a makeup lovers life :( Anyway, since i like the colors (the only thing I liked) thought it was better to share it than to delete it.

Spring Color Forecast

I confess not to be a strict follower of beauty trends, specially when it comes to colors.  I get what I like and use it for as long as I feel like it, very free spirit ahah!:D
Today I received an Avon newsletter announcing their makeup artist Jillian Dempsey picks.  Last night I ordered another SpeedDry+ nail polish called Mambo Melon and a the pink GlazeWear lipgloss shown in the photo (Darling Pink).

I've seen articles talking abut orange lipstick & nails for this season, but which are your color picks for spring?

Orange, Gold, Brown and Green Look

Oh Gold! I have to leave you alone for a while LoL
Another look using gold and my beloved 120 palette! The orange is "spread your wings" from Aromaleigh Cosmetics [used it wet]

Yeah, that's one of my go-to colors, find it easy to incorporate to any situation or outfit! 

In person the orange looked more wearable but as always, my crappy camera doesn't translate my looks well, specially the ones I end up quite pleased with
For this look I used NYX jumbo eye pencil in gold as a base over my lid and a little above my crease.  As for the eyeshadows used orange, gold, black and bronze from the 120 palette.
For eyeliner used an Elf  e/l in brown.  Also tried to use some gold and then brown on my waterline but it started to irritate my eyes; had to remove it before taking the pictures.
