Ready for Christmas with Kleancolor Red Sparkle

I'm so looking forward to Christmas! Yes, I want the heat to go away, start my one-month off school vacation and hopefully; visit my friend Gladys in Orlando :D

To me, nothing says Christmas like sparkly reds.
Kleancolor Red Sparkle is a jelly with silver & red glitter. It is sheer, so I think I did 3 coats.  I love how the glitters adds the perfect touch to the red jelly base, making it look a bit more fun than plain reds.  I love this shade, but the downside is that it takes forever to dry.  I used it first on mom's nail so I knew that I needed to apply fast dry topcoat and wait more than usual between coats.

Next day I added Naby New Round Glitter on an accent nail to make it even more festive

Sinful Colors Let's Meet: revisited

Hi lovelies!
I miss so much posting regularly has I used to!  School stuff is happening faster by the minute.  I've barely had time to do my makeup; hence the reason for lack of makeup post.  What I've had time is to paint my nails while I'm studying; so I'll keep with the nail polish theme for a while.

While checking the memory on one of my cameras I found old Let's Meet pictures.  I was going to delete them because I took them before cleanup, but the color shows so pretty that I had to post them.
Sorry for the mess!

Let's Meet is very sheer and reminds me of mustard. It has beautiful golden flakes.  Highly recommend layering it over a more opaque yellow or even white.  I like the color, but somehow not feeling it on myself.

I was undecided on what to layer over it - ended up removing the whole thing anyway

failed mani: Sinful Colors Lets Meet

I got Lets Meet while Walgreens had a sale, haul here. I've never been fond of yellow shades, but I wanted to try different colors and anyway, this was one of the few polishes left. I haven't found a yellow polish that I like on my and this is no exception, specially now that my hands are tanned.
This polish was very sheer even after 3 coats. I took it off and decided to layer it over a coat of Sally Hansen Extreme Wear in White Out to get more opacity. The color by itself is very pretty, so summery! but it looks awful on me. Pictures where taken with my phone cause the camera battery died. I was decided to wear this polish no mater what! Thought there was nothing that glitter couldn't resolve; that's when I decided to layer random glitters until I found something of my liking...but no, glitter let me down this time and ended up removing it all and leaving my nails naked :(

Nabi new blue glitter over Bettina 197

One of my favorite nail polish from Bettina Cosmetics is shade 197. Its a creamy blue / gray shade. I can tell you how much I love this color since I'm on my third bottle now! It is one of the shades I always go to when having a hard time picking a color.  This time instead of wearing it alone, I paired it with Nabi new blue glitter.

cracks in the gold

Having new nail polishes is great! but when your collection starts to grow; it is hard to choose which color to wear. This time I decided to go gold & bold starting with 3 coats of Nabi new gold pearl.
3 coats might sound like a lot of work, but this glitter dries super fast.

Now its time to crack it with CG Black Mesh

In person it looks so much better!

Mini-Hauls

Lately I've been into nail polishes like never before. Maybe because lack of space to store makeup or because in general, there is much more variety of affordable nail polishes than eyeshadows or brushes.
Here are a couple (mainly polishes) that I've gathered throughout the last weeks:

From my local drugstore, Nabi:
new blue glitter, new gold pearl, hot pink glitter
$1.99 each

From Sallys on their buy 2 get 1 free nailpolish offer, ended up paying around $9 including tax for all of them:
Nina Ultra Pro:  Blue Blaze, Punki Pink, Black
China Glaze: Emerald Sparkle and Silver Lining (both on sale)
Orly: Meet me under the mistletoe (on sale)

From Avon, I don't remember the price of each item but it was a total of $9.59:
Ultra Color Rich lipstick in rich ruby
Nailwear pro nailpolish in jade
Glimmersticks Diamonds eyeliners in twilight sparkle and emerald glow

From Walmart:
necklace and earring set for just $1.20!
Onyx Professional nail polish remover $3.49

From Walgreens: I don't know in the US, but this week in Puerto Rico they have Sinful Colors nail polishes on sale for $0.99! the display was almost empty and even tho I was looking to pick at least 2 bottles of Nirvana and Unicorn, still got some nice shades + a Revlon Colorburst lipgloss in Strawberry Fraise

From Kmart: first time I see E.l.f brushes there
but the display was pretty much empty, so I got the only ones left

Old NOTD: white,blue and glitter

This is an old mani I forgot to post, from last year LoL
All pics taken pre-cleanup, if I decide to take them after then I'm to tired to do it anyways. I'm more into makeup, don't know when I became a polish person :)

damn pinky nail, you failed me! LoL :P
The polishes I used:
Nabi in  Navy Blue (132)
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in White On (21)
NYC Starry Silver Glitter (105A)
Beauty Secrets base & topcoat

In case you haven't seen Nabi nail polishes:

I first saw this brand in Las Vegas. Then back in Puerto Rico spotted them in
my local drugstore / mini market. Here they retail for $1.99 and have quite a wide range of colors and clears with cute glitter shapes.  This and another one I got first are ok, but last week I got tree more and they smell like gasoline!? LoL no joke, like freaking gasoline, the smell wears off eventually but yeah, its odd :/

Nabi Nailpolishes

There is a pharmacy on my neighborhood, but I barely go there; always end up on Walgreens or Walmart.  Couple of weeks ago I ended up there and while browsing the cosmetics isle, found this nail polish brand called Nabi and rememberes seeing them in Las Vegas.  They have a great variety of clear polishes with glitter shapes on it - stars, hexagons, circles, hearts, triangles- and then the price; only $1.99.
I picked two colors only, just to try them out:

132 Navy Blue: the name says it all, navy blue but with kind of a aqua reflect. On nails has some sort of metallic finish. Please be kind with me, this is my first post trying to describe a nail polish and I'm not an expert on anything. It applies really nice.  Didn't had problems with bubbles or streaks.  It stained my nails a little after removal  and it lasted about 8 days before it started to wear off my nail edges.

sorry, pics taken before clean up

106 Round Glitter: Yellowish polish with round glitter in red, turquoise- aqua, gold and tiny glitter gold dots. Haven't use this one yet, I'm thinking of getting a pale gold or green polish to layer Round Glitter on top.  I did tried to swatch it but it was a little difficult to "place" all the glitters; maybe if the glitter was more dense would be easier.

I'm thinking in getting more polishes from this brand, specially the ones with glitter.  In the same pharmacy there are also Carlo Di Roma products; have you tried them? Anything in particular you would recommend?
