Esika Extreme Moisturizing Lipstick in Fucsia Cautivante

At fist glance, the color looked intimidating to me even tho I have a secret-soft spot for bold lipstick shades. I'm self-conscious about my big lips and bright colors makes them look bigger.  I don't like the shape of the lipstick because it makes it difficult to apply but the bright berry shade won me over! Nothing that a lip brush couldn't solve

As you can see on the swatches; this shade has a great color payoff without being too loud.  It compliments my skin tone and would look even more beautiful on someone with a darker skin tone.  I love to use it when I'm dressed in all black or barely did any makeup on my eyes because it brightens up the hole look.  You can see its moisturizing properties due to the slight shine finish, but doesn't feel  greasy or slippery. It is soft enough that I could dab a little on my finger and rub it on my lips for a hint of color; like it was a lip stain; but not too soft that it would bleed our or run all over your face.

bloated & after one drink
The stain while its fading out looks beautiful too!

It mix really nice with softer pink shades to tone it down

Review: L'Bel Couleur Luxe Rouge Irrésistiblé lipstick

L'Bel Couleur Luxe Rouge Irrésistiblé in Vin -a wine-berry shade- is a color rich lipstick that provides both hydration and protection with SPF 17; which is something I don't recall seeing in a lot of lip products except for lip balms. The packaging & the color of the tube are gorgeous!

This shade might look intimidating in the tube, but its formula makes the color looks less vampy, almost sheer, but not quite there yet.  In my experience, most dark lipsticks in a similar shade with gold flecks tend to feel a little gritty (maybe because of their high pigmentation?) but this one feels almost like its melting on my lips. It is a weird sensation, but feels very nice & soothing.  I must admit; I felt a bit disappointed at first when I swatched it on my hand. I expected a super dark color at the first swipe, but I had to do a second one to get what you will see below.  Then I applied it on my lips and not feeling the grittiness I was expecting made sense, it felt very soft and glided smoothly.  One thing tho, I recommend applying it with a brush unless you are a master of precision; its so soft that you can easily slide it outside your lips outline. Also, using a lipliner would be perfect because it will give you a nice and crisp outline.

sorry for my super dry lips!

Here in the swatch you can appreciate how it looks under different light settings, the first one is natural light without flash. I think that someone with a darker skin tone would rock the hell out of this shade!

Jordana Matte lipstick

Hello gorgeous!

This is the second time I've tried something from Jordana. I own an eyeliner which works nice. Also got a nail polish but is still in the untried bin. While writing this comes to my attention that I've no longer seen any Jordana at my local Walgreens?

I got the Jordana Matte lipstick at Kmart for $1.99. This is the only shade I've tried because none of the others have caught my attention.  I wanted to get a slight muted pink lipstick but all that I tried before where too nude or felt too dry for my liking - until I found this one.  The packaging could look cheap to some, but I'm not a sucker for that so I honestly, don't rest point to it from that; unless it makes the product itself difficult to use. I don't like the rounded tip shape of the lipstick, but no big deal there either.

Pink Flair in the tube looks like a dusty rose shade, but in my lips looks lighter (strawberry milk-ish).  I like this shade because my lips are naturally very pigmented and this one gives me a natural look with a lil' extra, nothing too colorful nor too muted.  The scent is delightful, its reminds me of sugar cookies.  Even when its described as a matte lipstick, I notice a slight shine.  I like this factor because my lips tends to get dry and matte lipstick in general tend to make it worst.  I feel that it moisturizes my lips without adding extra shine, it is like a matte creme? if it makes sense

Avon Beyond Color lipsticks

I keep finding "more old than cold" swatches in my random folders LoL
This are from several Avon Beyond Color lipsticks.  I like this lipsticks because they are very smooth and pigmented.  My least favorite shade is Chocolate Frosting, I really don't know why I got it????
Peach Daiquiri and Cantaloupe will be a perfect pair for this season.

Spring Color Forecast

I confess not to be a strict follower of beauty trends, specially when it comes to colors.  I get what I like and use it for as long as I feel like it, very free spirit ahah!:D
Today I received an Avon newsletter announcing their makeup artist Jillian Dempsey picks.  Last night I ordered another SpeedDry+ nail polish called Mambo Melon and a the pink GlazeWear lipgloss shown in the photo (Darling Pink).

wohoo! they are on sale now!

I've seen articles talking abut orange lipstick & nails for this season, but which are your color picks for spring?
Do you follow trends or you just create your own?

Estee Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick

In terms of beauty / makeup products I've modernized about 2 - 3 years ago.  Before that I was very classic / traditional in terms of branding.  I normally used Estee Lauder, Elizabeth Arden, Clinique, Lancome & Dermablend because it was what my mother and aunts used, and they where the one who teach me how to use this and that.

Discovering new, more accessible and budget-friendly brands have get me away from the ones that used to be my favorites.  Last Christmas my cousin and aunt got me a kit from the holiday collection.  It included 4 Pure Color lipsticks [$22]

from l to r: Tiger Eye, Rose, Fig and Candy

I like all of them but having trouble with Tiger Eye.  Don't mind that is sheer;  it looks nice alone, over other lipsticks and lip liners; but I can literally feel the chunks of gold glitter on it and it doesn't last as long as the other ones :(

** sorry for the crappy pictures, I have a new camera but can't find the usb, still using my old Kodak  :(
