Hi beauties!
Recently I was contacted by the staff of My Memories to try one of their digital scrapbooking software My Memories Suite. At first I was hesitant. I love scrapbooking but didn't have the patience to deal with my laptop crashing like with other graphic editor programs I have used. As a scrapbooking lover, I found myself countless hours creating my own papers, elements, kits & quick pages. I used Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro to create my pages from scratch but my trusty ol' Vaio crashed frequently.
My experience:
- The file size: it requires aprox 680MB. I recommend to make sure you have enough memory available. I think it took aprox 3 hrs to download and install, my connection was crazy that week. The first time I used it it loaded slow, specially when I wanted to add pictures, but next time program loaded fine. When browsing for pictures my computer freeze for a couple of seconds, but haven't crash.
- They offer the convenience of either getting the product mailed to you, or just download it and buy a backup for $4.99.
- It includes quick pages (pre-designed single pages) that can go from that to complete albums in a few clicks. This option is just a quickie-mode, because you can also create your pages from scratch choosing your own background, font, embellishments, create your own wordart, etc. I think that the amount of embellishment that included its limited. I guess that's why the site also offers free kits for the grabs.
- If its your first time using a digital scrapbooking software I recommend to check their YouTube tutorials first, to get your creative mojo digitally-flowing ;)
- You can create single pages, albums, calendars, post cards or movies with it. You can play them on computers, DVD & i-pods. You can share it on facebook, whether is in movie or page format. Of course - you can print them too. The downside on the video feature is that you have to download a separate add on for it (not installed in the program).
- As for its many uses, would be a great baby shower gift for expecting parents. You could use it to create personalized invitations for your wedding, birthday or thank you notes. When it comes to beauty bloggers is a great resource to design your layout and to display your makeup looks, nail art, etc. I agree that digital scrapbooking in general is a functional hobby / art. Is mess-free, saves time & money and its safe - no running with scissors here! lol
had to post only pages & a slide show from photobucket because Blogger messed up with everything else :\
*** The mentioned product was provided to me by PR rep for review. The statements above are honest, based on my experience with the product.
