Sephora Shimmer Harmony gloss palette -pic heavy-

This is the review & swatches for the Sephora Shimmer Harmony gloss palette.  I got this in March but kept procrastinating on taking pictures.  This is my first time doing lip swatches so bare with me :)
I will be grateful if you could give me some tips when taking pictures for lip swatching.
____________________________________________________________

The Shimmer Harmony gloss palette includes 6 cool tone glosses packed with tons of shimmer.  The glosses come in a rectangular case that also includes a mini brush, a mirror and a round space in the corner close to the mirror that I guess is for mixing the glosses to create a custom shade.  The glosses don't have names, they are identified in the back of the palette by a number.

Some are a tad shear but in general they have a very good pigmentation. The glitter on them is gorgeous! you can see it in the arm swatch that came out blurry, it was the only way to make them show on pictures.  I didn't had that luck when swatching on my lips but in person the shimmer really shows.
I have used them alone and over lipstick / lipliner. They last longer layered over other product. I prefer angle brushes to apply lipgloss but the brush included works ok, I use it more to apply lipstick as it works better.
My room gets super hot during summer and I've had bad experience with lipgloss on palettes melting and creating a mes but this palette have been an exception. The glosses have stayed in place but they are very soft and easy to pick.
Shades 3 and 4 are sticky and if you apply them alone & too much the appearance is -honestly- ugly.  I rarely use them but when I do, I use them to layer over something else and just a tad in the center of the lips, feathering it out to the corners. My favorites are shade 2 and 5.  Shade #5 reminds me of Sephora by Opi Miss Can't Be Wrong because of the blue shimmer.

lip swatch note:  I notice some shades look identical on the pictures when swatched on my lips, maybe because of my natural pigmentation?? In person I could tell the difference but not in the pictures; I've decided to opt swatch of shade #1.

Revlon Color Burst lipglosses

I don't know why, but I resisted for so long to get these glosses. Looks like the only thing I like from Revlon is my holly grail ColorStay foundation; well, not anymore! :)
I'm slowly getting them because they are so popular and at Walgreens they are always pretty much sold out. There is one shade called Hot Pink that I really want but its never available. So far I only have Strawberry Fraise, Papaya & Crystal Lilac

Strawberry Fraise is a very bright pink with fuchsia shimmer, it almost reminds me of watermelon. I find the shimmer on this one a little bit gritty compared to the other two I own, but not to the point that I can't stand it.

Papaya is a pinky coral shade with subtle shimmer. So far this is my favorite because is more orange/coral than pink and has a very creamy texture.

Crystal Lilac is a very light, pink / lavender with pink & blue shimmer, almost opalescent. This shade is very pretty and I wish my lips where not so pigmented to wear it alone, but its great for layering. The blue shimmer gives my smile a pop! This shimmer is gorgeous - but my poor camera can't capture it.

The only "thing" with them is the applicator; to me it is a bit weird and still trying to get used to it. Its a mix between a doe-foot and a spatula. The applicator is the only thing that bothers me a little, because the pigmentation is great and the packaging is very sleek. They have a medium staying power.

Gap lip shine lipgloss *pic heavy*

I got them at a Gap outlet store, they retail for $4.99 but where on sale for $2. They come in a plastic pouch. The product itself is presented in a clear square container that let you see the color and the cap that holds the wand is black.  I like the packaging because its very sleek and has a nice size. I checked on Gap website to see if they had other shades, but couldn't find them.

I got the shades Nude Shimmer and Berry Shimmer

Nude Shimmer is a tan / nude base with tons of gold shimmer.  This was my favorite because it looks gorgeous on the tube, but my lips are naturally very pigmented so unless I mute them with concealer, the shimmers are not as noticeable and the gloss base is quite sheer but I still love it.  It was quite difficult to photograph, my camera could not pick the golden shimmer and in the tube it looks more dark than in pictures.

Berry Shimmer is a strawberry-red base filled with tons of fuchsia and pink shimmer. Again, it looks darker in the tube (in person). It applies sheer and leaves a pretty stain when it fades out. It looks pretty by its own or over lipstick.  Even tho is a little bit sheer, you can easily built it up applying a bit more after a while. I think this gloss is perfect to add a pop of color to your look.

  Swatches

Both have a sweet / minty scent. The applicator is the classic doe-foot. On staying power they are normal. If I've been eating or drinking I need to re apply a bit after, but with Berry Shimmer I might not re apply because I like the stain with sparkles that it leaves. They are not sticky, Nude Shimmer is creamy while Berry Shimmer is more jelly-like.

Wearing Berry Nude. Initially was only wearing a  lip liner all over my lips but didn't like it so I layered the gloss on top. In person didn't look as dark and the golden shimmer was very noticeable.

Wearing only Berry Shimmer...and trying to bring sexy back LoL

Spring Color Forecast

I confess not to be a strict follower of beauty trends, specially when it comes to colors.  I get what I like and use it for as long as I feel like it, very free spirit ahah!:D
Today I received an Avon newsletter announcing their makeup artist Jillian Dempsey picks.  Last night I ordered another SpeedDry+ nail polish called Mambo Melon and a the pink GlazeWear lipgloss shown in the photo (Darling Pink).

wohoo! they are on sale now!

I've seen articles talking abut orange lipstick & nails for this season, but which are your color picks for spring?
Do you follow trends or you just create your own?

Avon Chocolate Kiss Lipgloss

Since my sister in law started selling Avon I've tried a lot of their products, specially from the Mark line.  In overall I think Mark makeup products have better quality than regular Avon. As you can see in the pictures they come in a squeeze tube.  They come in 4 different shades: Cherry Truffles, Chocolate Covered Strawberry, Chocolate Cream and Raspberry Mousse.  I got all except Chocolate Cream; on sale for $.99 They are creamy and a little thick at the same time; way more pigmented than regular gloss which is good.

As with most squeeze tube lip products is better to use a brush for a nice, even and messy free application. The smell is tricky: they smell like fake chocolate smell, don't know how to explain it better! LoL
However, I do like that kind of smell ( call me weird! )  f you smell it right from the tube the scent is quite strong, but at least for me it was barely noticeable when wearing it. They have a mildly sweet - chocolaty taste.

My favorite is Cherry Truffles. In person looks more like a dark fuchsia.  It gives a nice shine without looking greasy and good coverage.  It can be applied alone or on top of a lipstick / lip liner to add glossiness.

Raspberry Mousse is a berry - wine shade with gold shimmer. It has really good pigmentation but is thicker than the other two.

Chocolate Covered Strawberry is a strawberry pink shade with frosted silver shimmer.  This one is my least favorite.  To my surprise this is the most opaque of the tree shades but consistency is a little pasty, on lips looked streaky and frost have never suited my lips.

On staying power: Not great. Had to retouch once while having drinks and twice ( at the 3rd time I just said forget it! ) if I was eating & drinking.  After no retouches it leaves a nice stain, but lips got really sticky.

Will I repurchase these?
Even tho I love everything chocolate, I don't like them that much.

Which are your favorite and least favorite scented lip products???
