This was supposed to be my first try at half moon manicure but I didn't place the stickers close enough to my natural moon, so I ended with regular glitter tips :(
Still, I like how it turned out; the combination of Boom Boom & I Miss You looks nice :)
If you are thinking of getting new Sinful Color polishes, get this two in your basket; specially Boom Boom which I'm adoring!

Since I went back to school I have neglected my makeup and started hoarding nail polishes. Makeup is my original & true love, but because I don't have time to go out often like in the older days; painting my nails is a more practical way to pamper myself than doing my makeup to sit at home...studying.

Anyway my resolution is to have at least one makeup related post weekly and here is the latest; done with an Elf Studio 144-Piece Ultimate Eyeshadow Palette. I did this inspired in a picture used for a challenge at BBPR I'm rusty in the winged eyeliner department, it needs improvement.

In person the colors where much more intense. My eyebrows & dark circles didn't look so bad?....close up shots makes you see how bad things are.

Despite the eyebrow & dark circle massacre, I love how this combination looks on me.

If one thing I can say about my mom is that she is a hair product hoarder. She loves to buy products from different brands and combine them and create her custom care regimen.

I'm happy that she does that: I provide her the nail polish & makeup and she provides me with lots of hair care products to try - WIN! :D

Esika Look & Care Leave-In Styling Cream (with Keratech Complex) is a product designed to complement your straightening shampoo & conditioner routine. Acording to product description it removes frizz, reduces volume, adds shine, protect ends and helps to prolong the lasting of your flat iron or blow-out.

retail price: $8 for 6.7 fl. oz.

Indications of use are very simple: just apply over towel dry hair from the middle of your hair to the roots in a descending movement; then style it as you wish.

I have used it more than 5 times by now; putting it trough the test of super crazy weather changes here in Puerto Rico. I trimmed my ends for the last time in July last year -mom is very offended by this hair-sin of mine- and I was surprised at how less horribly looking my ends where. My Thyroid condition makes my hair weak, more fine that it naturally is and totally destroys my ends; but this product seems to camouflage this flaws pretty darn well! I like to alternate between blower and flat iron or use both when climate is extra crazy, but I was still able to conserve some volume; so I don't end up looking bald.

Its scent is a mild mix between fruity and flowery, nothing overpowering. In terms of how much to apply this varies depending on length and how much hair you have. I like to part my hair in half and start with nickel sized pearls and distribute, putting special attention to my scary dry ends.

I can say that this is a Randon Stash-mom approved product! ;)

Last week Walgreens finally! had Sinful Color polishes on sale. I could't find the ones I really wanted but got some other nice colors. They ended up being in the pink-purple range (all-pink is not my thing; I prefer dark colors).

Also got two nail art kits at a super price from my new favorite place to get all this cuties & Kleancolor polishes. The store is called Secrets by Me and they carry things from underwear to beauty salon tools at super affordable prices.

At the same store I got a mini clear polish from a brand called Bonita to reach the minimum purchase with a debit cards. The mini polish + this kits would make a great bundle to make your own franken!

Now that I see this pictures I feel confused at how much my face changed since I lost weight...it feels extremely weird....

Revlon Sheer Blossom + Nail Decal

The name says it all: sheer. Sheer Blossom is a pale pink with very subtle gold? shimmer. I was in search of a good-almost nude shade for those days when I didn't want to go color-crazy but didn't want naked nails either. I found this shade to flatter my skin tone and make nails look delicate. Application was good. To avoid streaks I recommend to go with 3 thin layers and make sure each of them is dry before applying the next one.

To spice it up I did an accent nail with a nail decal

Almost two years have passed between these. I haven't venture in to the fake nails for a while; I like my natural nails better. Taking aside camera woes, I think the quality of my pictures have improved. Now I try to take them after cleanup, even when I feel lazy.

Shimmery Eyes, Orange Lips

Have you ever orchestrated a makeup look around a lipstick? I've done it many times. This time -for no particular reason- I wanted to sport orange lips. I love this trend but think that it looks better in darker, richer skin tones. Anyway I was determined and I did it!

For this look I used products from a no name/random brand makeup kit I got as a Christmas present.

it started like this, but I wanted something else; the plain brown eyeliner was not convinging

added glitter eyeliner on top of the brown liner

dabbed some gold pigment on top of the orange lipstick

Felt that something was missing when I realized: Hey girl! Haven't done your foundation/concealer yet?

I got so carried away with everything else that forgot to apply my foundation! Hence the shot with crazy looking skin ;)

I'm glad I notice before heading out.

New Clutch Purse

I'm so thankful for clutch purses! I hate going out carrying a full size handbag; they can be very uncomfortable, specially in crowded places.

Including this one I only own 4 (another one in black with studs, one tan and one brown). My mother got it for me from a local store called Kress while they where having a new year clearance sale. I think it was around $3, a total steal.

I prefer wrist-lets but I'm liking this bigger but still slimmer design. It has enough room for ids, compact, cash, cellphone, keys, lipstick and the you-never-know rescue tampon. I like the purple rim accent and the color of the inside lining looks very cool.

are you a big or small purse kind of woman?

Hope you have a good & productive day - by productive I mean to eat as much chocolate as you can before going into a diabetic coma! lol

Ma Cherie is a beautiful red cherry jelly, perfect for all year around. I think this color would look good with any skin tone. Application was a dream (so far, the three Orly polishes I've tried have been like this) For the first picture I did only two coats and there is visible nail line. With three coats nail line is less noticeable. The finish is super shinny; pictures where taken pre-topcoat.

This was as Valentines inspired I got. I tried more than four times to come up with something but my manicure mojo was down :(

Oui is part of a trio of minis I got as a gift. They came in a container emulating a candy cane, which I found so ugly...Before this one, I've only tried one Orly nail polish and I loved not only the color, but the formula, brush and application too.

Most hardcore and well known collectors must have this color a long time ago? so it might not be big news that this shade is amazing! I love every aspect of it and its very unique within my stash. Had such a hard time deciding which pictures to post because I like them all.

Holos and Crackle Mani

Some people are surprised that crackles have survived the hype-then-burn roller coaster, but I'm not. Crackles are an easy way to add funk to a boring mani or to hide chipped nail polish. You can also save your mani with a glitter topcoat, but sometimes it turns into a pain to remove that pesky glitter.

On this last picture the golden/orange light that the holo catches shows a little. I tried different camera and light settings but this Kleancolor Holo is difficult to catch. In person I was able to see even a bit of green.

Samantha is a friend from my facebook page. She doesn't own a blog (yet!) but I hope that she gets motivated to start soon :D We had some troubles to include all the pictures she took, but we where able to include the final look.

My Random Stash has kindly let me hijack her blog and we thought it would be nice for all of her readers to get some sort of idea of products available in the United Kingdom but this is my very first attempt at a blog, so please be gentle with me. Firstly feel as though I should tell you a bit about myself, my name is Sam and I am 29 years young ( this year instead of getting older i have decided to go backwards, so i will be 28 this year ), live with my partner and have a fantastic 14 year old step son. I'm make up, nail polish in fact any beauty products mad although I don't actually wear make up every day but then some days I really go OTT. I am in fact a bit of a mad lady all round, but if you can't have fun with yourself who can you have fun with???

So lets get onto the NOTD I've. I used MUA shade 12 which in the UK you can get for the bargain price of £1 from a chain of shops called Superdrug. MUA sells pretty much all make up products at really cheap prices they have recently launched their own website and they have now started to deliver internationally which costs up to £7.50, which sounds quite a lot but if you buy a few of their products the postage works out quite fair.
MUA shade 12 is a pink, its quite a bright pink but not over the top and is an everyday, every occasion colour. The brush is quite small but I found that its easy to use.
First I applied a base coat (No7 available from boots, £7.00) then applied one coat of MUA shade 12.
I then decided to give it a bit of sparkle but adding a coat of No7 Twinkle, which is a pale pink glitter polish, but I find that it is so pale that the best thing to use it for is to add a bit of extra sparkle.

This is a great layering polish and I think it might be good material to give frankens a kick. Bar glitters are always tricky to apply; but TS formula is thicker than other Kleancolor polishes which makes things easier.

Avon Lipstain Marker

Since I started selling Avon I've had the opportunity to try more of their products. I mostly do when I order mini samples for my customers. This minis are great because you not only can get customers hooked on new products, but to have the chance to try it free before committing to buy full price.

In the case of the Lipstain Marker I ordered in an introductory price before it officially launched to see if it was something I would recommend to my customers. This was the first lipstain I've tried from Avon and I wasn't disappointed.

It takes very little effort for the color to show on your lips and that is a very good thing. My lips are naturally very pigmented and the two shades I own looks almost identically on my in pictures, but in person I can tell the difference. The color last very, very long time; I was really impressed because I don't need to reapply after eating or drinking. Another good thing: is pigmented and long lasting but there's no transfer.

Like with any lipstain of any brand I've tried so far (including Benefit benetint) my lips get super dry if I don't apply a lipbalm first. For now, the only come in 4 shades. I hope Avon adds new shades and maintain it within their regular collection. Regular price is $9 but in most catalogs you can get it on sale for $4.

Leopard Print Is Addictive!

I'm not the kind for flashy or eye catching shoes but do love me some high heels. I'd better be caught dead than going out wearing flats! I do use flats to run errands, go to school and stuff like that but to party, dine out and such I'm always on heels. I'm only 5'2" so that means I'm biologically drawn to high heels LoL

It took me by surprise to be in love with this pair! Not because of the height, they are very comfortable; but the print is something that I might like but not feel sure I could pull it off.

This pair was a gift for getting good grades in my first semester Yay! and I was offered the option to exchange them if I didn't like them. I was thinking about choosing the same model but in a solid color; I couldn't: leopard print got my heart forever! Already wore them with skinny jeans and they look fab! plan to use them again on Saturday. Honestly, I don't care if animal print is in style or not; I'll wear them until they say "please no more!"

For those of you that are fashion savvy: With which other prints would be nice to pair this heels? Most of my dresses have some kind of print and I really want to wear them with a dress; besides the obvious black.

Like last year, I had the opportunity to join a friend on a road trip in the US. The route was pretty much the same, except this time we made it to Washington DC. I really wanted to make it to NY, but I only had 3 days left before my Christmas vacation ended. Anyway, I had so much fun!

Washington DC: this was my first time in Washington. I loved everything about it, didn't care that rains a lot. Didn't took many pictures as we where walking fast, we where short on time to visit the different museums.

The memorable moment [at least for me] was visiting The Smithsonian Museum. I'll sound lame but I almost cried when I was inside. When it comes to the travel bug I have many dreams and some of them are quite expensive but one of the most simple, yet unfulfilled until this trip; was to visit the Smithsonian. This is why it feels awesome to have someone that knows your smallest wishes and make them come true: what seems small to others, can mean the world to your loved ones. Due to time restrictions I only saw one of the three floors of the museum, but I left damn happy!

I'm new to the super layering thing and even tho it took a village and gallons of acetone to remove this, I'll do it again!

My Nail Tool Box

I got this fold-able utility box a month ago and I'm loving it! Before this I had all my nail related tools divided in 3 small travel bags, but this box is definitely more convenient with pockets inside and out to maintain everything in its place. I got it for $7.99 from a CyZone catalog.
